Leading Baby Boomer Marketing Agency Launches National Survey of Web, Social Media Attitudes

As Facebook reports increasing numbers of Baby Boomer members and more seniors than ever are active online, strategic marketing agency Creating Results (www.creatingresults.com) is conducting a national research project aimed at uncovering attitudes and preferences of mature (40+) consumers towards social media and the Internet. Unlike other recent research, the two-survey effort looks at the satisfaction, frustrations and motivations of older people online.
Now, the two online surveys are being opened to any Internet users ages 40 or better. Until this point, the research has been conducted with residents and homeowners at some of the nation’s leading CCRCs (continuing care retirement communities) and active adult communities.
Internet users are invited to share their thoughts about social media at http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/233384/40-plus-social-media. Opinions on web site usability and the role sites play in move decisions are welcomed at http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/249736/40-plus-web-preferences. The online surveys will close April 15, 2010.
“Gone are the days when you could throw a brochure on the Web or open a Facebook account and hope that was enough to create results with older audiences,” said Creating Results’ President Todd Harff. “Today’s mature Internet users have a wide range of comfort online, and marketing efforts do not always take that into account. What we learn through this research can help marketers better communicate with 40+ consumers through more relevant social engagement and easier-to-use web sites.”
