Retirement Community Marketing Wins Two National Mature Media Awards

MARKETING AGENCY TURNS RETIREMENT LIVING UPSIDE DOWN,

PAINTS A PICTURE OF COMMUNITY, AND EARNS TWO NATIONAL MATURE MEDIA AWARDS

Woodbridge, VA– [August 12, 2008]Virginia-based strategic marketing agency Creating Results (www.creatingresults.com) was recently honored by the Mature Market Resource Center with two National Mature Media Awards for their work for Westminster at Lake Ridge, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Northern Virginia.

The National Mature Media Awards is the nation’s largest awards program to recognize the best advertising, marketing and educational materials produced for older adults.  Creating Results submitted only two entries into the competition and won for both.  A Silver Award recognized the full-service marketing agency for a full-color print ad titled “A New View on Retirement.” A Bronze Award in the category of Single Magazine/Newspaper Article was garnered for a full page story on Pat Olson Leopold, an accomplished painter/sculptor and one of the Westminster’s many talented residents.

The article on Ms. Leopold was one component of an integrated marketing campaign utilized in both the community’s newsletter and in direct mail postcards.  The postcards spotlighted Ms. Leopold and Everett Johnson, a professional photographer, and displayed images of their work along with details about their lives in the Westminster community.  The campaign generated new leads and more traffic to the community’s website and helped propel the community to 96% occupancy, its highest ever.

The striking print ad featured a 50+ year-old man doing a handstand and reads, “You could say we have turned the world of continuing care retirement living --- well, you know.”

The 2008 National Mature Media Awards Program received nearly 1,000 entries.  The awards program is presented by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for the senior market.  The winners were judged for overall excellence of design, content, creativity and relevance to the senior market by a panel of experts from across the United States who have years of experience working in the mature market.
